Doug Lacey's Basement Systems Case Studies: Foundation Wall Stabilization Project in Innisfail, AB
Challenge
These homeowners in Innisfail, Alberta encountered issues with their homes existing cinder-block foundation wall cracking in spots as well as bowing inwards in several sections. This problem was definitely a cause for concern as left untreated the possibility of a failure and wall collapse becomes greater with every rain fall that occurs. Looking for answers and a permanent proven solution, they contacted the foundation repair professionals at Doug Lacey's Basement Systems.
Solution
A System Design Specialist was able to assess their situation and provide the homeowners with a FREE, no obligation quote, designed specific to address all of their expressed foundation concerns. Our Production Team was then able to then come to the home to install a combination of several of our Supportworks Foundation Repair Solutions. First off nine (9) Geo-Lock™ Wall Anchor System were utilized. Heavy-duty, galvanized earth anchors are embedded in stable, undisturbed soil outside of the foundation wall. Each anchor is then connected by a steel rod to a wall plate that provides clamping pressure against the inside of the foundation wall. This method also offers the potential to straighten the wall back to its original position over time. On one section of the wall where we were unable to utilize Geo-Lock due to the proximity outside of the home, we installed six (6) of our PowerBrace™ Wall Stabilization Beams, A patented wall repair system that's designed specifically to immediately stabilize failing basement walls, permanently halting the inward movement.
