Doug Lacey’s Basement Systems, a Southern-Alberta services company, has released its formal response to the COVID-19 Pandemic:
The COVID-19 Company Response Initiative considers the well-being of the community by-and-large. This includes company employees – both internal and external, company customers – both current and potential, and the general population in areas the company operates. Doug Lacey’s Basements Systems takes health and safety of all involved seriously, and thus has created the COVID-19 Company Response Initiative as outlined in the sections below.
Effective immediately, all company employees will be monitored daily using the COVID-19 Self-Assessment developed by Alberta Health Services.
Each employee will complete the self-assessment prior to the start of their day. Upon completing the self-assessment, they will report to a designated company manager who will log the outcome of the self-assessment in the company’s COVID-19 Company Response Initiative Logbook.
Under the company’s COVID-19 Company Response Initiative, additional measures will be taken for all internal employees. An internal employee is any employee who works at the company’s home office. In addition to the Alberta Health Self-Assement, each internal employee will be monitored daily for fever-like symptoms by an infrared thermometer gun. The daily results will be also logged in the company’s COVID-19 Company Response Initiative Logbook.
External employees are those who will not work from the company's home office. Like an internal employee, they will be required to report their self-assessment results daily to the designated company manager. The results will be logged daily in the company’s COVID-19 Company Response InitiativeLogbook. These employees will not be monitored for fever-like symptoms, as they will not have access to the tools to do so.
* If any employee displays symptoms of COVID-19, they will be advised to stay home. *
In addition to daily monitoring, the company’s Sales Representatives are required to follow additional protocol to further protect the well-being of the customers being served.
This protocol requires hand sanitization upon entering the customer’s home, offering to use a mask and disposable gloves while in the customer’s home, practicing social distancing of at least 6’ from the customer and patrons in the home, and hand sanitization upon departing the home.
In addition to Daily Monitoring, the company’s Construction Representatives are required to follow additional protocol to further protect the well-being of the customers being served.
This protocol requires entering the home with the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), hand sanitization as required, and social distancing of at least 6’ from the customers and patrons in the home.
