Photo Album: I Need a Replacement Sump System and Water is Entering my Basement, What do Should I do? Question out of Lethbridge, AB
This homeowner in Lethbridge, Alberta encountered issues with water leaking in through foundation cracks around the perimeter of their basement during heavy rainfall. Because their current sump system isn't able to keep up with the amount of water entering the home they want to eliminate the water issues permanently in the basement and regain the usable space, they contacted the experts at Doug Lacey's Basement Systems.
A System Design Specialist was able assess the situation and provide the homeowners with a FREE, no obligation quote designed specific to address all of the homeowners concerns. Our Production Team was then able to then come to the home to install CleanSpace® vapor barrier along the walls which is a 100% waterproof plastic that's perfect for unfinished basement walls. With a 25 year warranty for wear and tear, it's durable, washable, and has anti-microbial protection called UltraFresh built right in! The wall vapor barrier ties into the patented WaterGuard® drainage system. The WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain System is designed with a built-in wall flange, which extends up your basement wall by 3/8", capturing any water leaking from the walls will move downward and behind this flange where it is then directed to the newly installed, replacement, SuperSump® sump pump systems. In total 2 SuperSump® systems were installed. A full-featured system, SuperSump® includes the best components available including a top-rated 1/3HP Zoeller® pump is designed for reliability & high-volume pumping. Once the cement dries on the new system in place the homeowners can rest easy knowing they have the best solution in place and can get back to utilizing the valuable basement space!
Existing Sump System
Here lies the existing sump system that needed to be replaced.
SuperSump® 1, CleanSpace®, and WaterGuard® Drainage System
Here's a view of one of the newly installed sump systems that is going to help keep this basement dry.
SuperSump® 2, With More CleanSpace®, and WaterGuard®
Here is the second sump system installed to ensure all areas in which water may be entering will be collected and redirected outside of the home.
CleanSpace®, and WaterGuard®
Here's a view of an entire, length of the wall being covered in CleanSpace® with WaterGuard® installed directly underneath. These two products work in tandem to keep the basement dry. Any excess water coming in from the walls will run down behind the CleanSpace® vapor barrier and down into the WaterGuard® drainage system. The water will then be redirected to one of the installed sump systems.
