This homeowner in Northwest Calgary, Alberta encountered issues with water entering their basement through cracks in the foundation walls. The water that was entering the basement was pooling in various areas, such as the bottom of the stairwell. Wanting to eliminate the water issues and get a permanent solution, they contacted the experts at Doug Lacey's Basement Systems.
A System Design Specialist was able assess the situation and provide the homeowners with a FREE, no obligation quote specifically designed towards the homeowners needs. Our Production Team was then able to then come to the home to install our patented WaterGuard® drainage system around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain System is designed with a built-in wall flange, which extends up your basement wall by 3/8", capturing any water leaking from the walls where it will move downward and behind this flange and then directed to the SuperSump® sump pump system. A full-featured system, SuperSump® includes the best components available including a top-rated 1/3HP Zoeller® pump is designed for reliability & high-volume pumping. From there the system will discharge any water entering the sump pump basin to the exterior of the home passing through our patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of your home and ejects water away from the foundation in the event that the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged.
To address the pooling in the stairwell our Production Team had installed our TrenchDrain™ Grated Drainage Pipe System. The TrenchDrain™ resembles half of a basement drainage pipe, with a grated opening fitted snugly on top. The grate is flush or slightly below the floor, eliminating any tripping hazard. It is uniquely designed to span doorways, hatchway entrances, and similar entryway doors. Any water passing over the drain is collected through the openings and redirected to the sump pump.
