This homeowner in Northwest Calgary, Alberta contacted us concerned with a crack located in the foundation wall that had been leaking water into the home. Cracks in foundation walls are common in homes throughout Alberta, it is usually a side effect of the natural curing process of concrete. This homeowner had also encountered water seeping in through the basement foundation. In search of the best solution to repair this crack and to stop the water entering in on to the basement slab, they contacted the experts at Doug Lacey's Basement Systems.

A System Design Specialist was able assess the situation and provide the homeowner with a FREE, no obligation quote designed specifically to address all of the homeowner's concerns. To repair the foundation cracks within their home, our Service Team utilized a Polyurethane Resin injection, followed by reinforcing the crack with a CarbonArmor®CarbonArmor® are carbon fiber strips that are placed across the crack thereby significantly improving the overall stability of the wall.

To address the issue of excess water entering on to the basement slab, our Production Team had came to the home to install a multifaceted waterproofing system. This system consists of a CleanSpace® vapor barrier along the walls which is a 100% waterproof plastic that's perfect for unfinished basement walls. With a 25 year warranty for wear and tear, it's durable, washable, and has anti-microbial protection called UltraFresh built right in! The wall vapor barrier ties into the patented WaterGuard® drainage system. The WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain System is designed with a built-in wall flange, which extends up your basement wall by 3/8", capturing any water leaking from the walls will move downward and behind this flange where it is then directed to the SuperSump® sump pump system. A full-featured system, SuperSump® includes the best components available including a top-rated 1/3HP Zoeller® pump is designed for reliability & high-volume pumping. From there the system will discharge any water entering the sump pump basin to the exterior of the home passing through our patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of your home and ejects water away from the foundation in the event that the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged. 

Once the cement dries on the new system in place the homeowners can rest easy knowing they have the best solution in place and can get back to utilizing the valuable basement space!
