Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Homeowner with Water Leaking into Home in Need of Waterproofing System in SE Calgary, AB
This homeowner in Southeast Calgary, Alberta encountered issues with water leaking in through foundation cracks in and around the property's basement windows. Wanting to eliminate the water issues permanently they contacted the experts at Doug Lacey's Basement Systems.
A System Design Specialist was able assess the situation and provide them with a FREE, no obligation quote designed specifically to address their concerns. Our Production Team was able to then come to the home to repair the cracks that were coming from the basement windows. The window cracks were then repaired by our Service Team utilizing a Polyurethane Resin injection, followed by reinforcing the crack with CarbonArmor®. CarbonArmor® are a series of carbon fiber strips that are secured across the crack thereby significantly improving the overall stability of the wall. This homeowner can now rest easy knowing that the crack in their foundation has been repaired. Once the cracks have been sealed the Production Team was able to install a WellDuct® Window Well Drain designed to prevent basement flooding due to window well leakage. The low profile WellDuct® system channels excess water from the exterior window well down and behind the installed CleanSpace® vapor barrier. The CleanSpace® vapor barrier is installed along the walls of the basement and is made of a 100% waterproof plastic. It has a 25 year warranty for wear and tear, it's durable, washable, and has anti-microbial protection called UltraFresh built right in! The wall vapor barrier ties into our patented WaterGuard® drainage system. The WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain System is designed with a built-in wall flange, which extends up your basement wall by 3/8", capturing any water leaking from the walls will move downward and behind this flange where it is then directed to the SuperSump® sump pump system. A full-featured system, SuperSump® includes the best components available including a top-rated 1/3HP Zoeller® pump is designed for reliability & high-volume pumping. From there the system will discharge any water entering the sump pump basin to the exterior of the home passing through our patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of your home and ejects water away from the foundation in the event that the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged.
This homeowner ended up being extremely grateful knowing that their home is being protected by a solution provided by Doug Lacey's Basement Systems.
Area Where Water Was Leaking in
This photo depicts the area in which the water was leaking into the basement. The water seem to be leaking in through cracks near and around the window.
Sump Installment Area
The System Design Specialist had decided that this was the best area to install the sump pump system.
Crack Repair and WellDuct® System
Here you can see that the crack (located from the corner of the window to the floor) has been injected and reinforced with Carbon Fiber Strips to prevent any leaking in the future. For another measure of security a WellDuct® System has been in stalled to ensure excess water wont pool in the window well. Any excess water within the widow well will be redirected into the WaterGuard® below and then into the installed SuperSump® sump pump system.
CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier
Our CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier has been installed and an extra measure of waterproofing security over both the sealed crack and WellDuct® System. If there happens to be any water leaking in behind the vapor barrier the water will run down, following along the barrier and into the WaterGuard® below.
SuperSump® Sump Pump System Installation Complete
Here is a look at the "heart" of the entire waterproofing system. A full-featured system, SuperSump® includes the best components available including a top-rated 1/3HP Zoeller® pump is designed for reliability & high-volume pumping.
The IceGuard® & Discharge System
Any excess water that happens to be inside the home will have to pass through this anti-freeze fitting. It is installed outside of your home and ejects water away from the foundation in the event that the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged.
