The difference with a side discharge is the plumbing off of the pump is directed out the side of the basin below the lid, we then install a solid lid that sits flush with the concrete floor
The discharge is installed throughout the ceiling to stay out of the way as much as possible
The Cleanspace collects any water from the foundation walls and pours down into the Waterguard, which is a piping system specifically engineered to solve basement water problems effectively without worry of clogging from soils under the floor
The Iceguard allows water to escape if the pipe freezes or becomes blocked
This homeowner in Calgary, Alberta encountered issues with her window wells flooding and causing water to seep into the basement. Wanting to eliminate the water issues permanently in the basement and regain the usable space, they contacted the Doug Lacey's Basement Systems for expert advice.
A System Design Specialist was able to assess the situation and provide the homeowners with a FREE, no obligation quote to address their concerns. Our Production Team then went to the home to install CleanSpace® vapor barrier along the walls which is a 100% waterproof plastic that's perfect for unfinished basement walls. With a 25 year warranty for wear and tear, it's durable, washable, and has anti-microbial protection called UltraFresh built right in! The wall vapor barrier ties into the patented WaterGuard® drainage system. The WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain System is designed with a built-in wall flange, which extends up your basement wall by 3/8", capturing any water leaking from the walls will move downward and behind this flange where it is then directed to the SuperSump® sump pump system. A full-featured system, SuperSump® includes the best components available including a top-rated 1/3HP Zoeller® pump is designed for reliability & high-volume pumping. From there the system will discharge any water entering the sump pump to the exterior of the home passing through our patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of your home and ejects water away from the foundation in the event that the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged. Once the cement dries the homeowner can finish the basement, lay carpet down and the system will be hidden!
