The Super sump was installed which we highly recommend to be serviced annually. When the service technician came out they changed out the check valve and nine volt battery, vacuumed out all of the sediment and silt that was built up within the basin then they flood tested the entire system to ensure it was all working properly.
CleanSpace® vapor barrier was installed along the walls which is a 100% waterproof plastic that's perfect for unfinished basement walls. With a 25 year warranty for wear and tear, it's durable, washable, and has anti-microbial protection called UltraFresh built right in! The wall vapor barrier ties into the patented WaterGuard® drainage system.
A home in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta was having issues with water seeping into the basement for many years and wanted to remediate this issue once and for all. Looking for a permanent and reliable solution they contacted the experts at Doug Lacey's Basement Systems.
A System Design Specialist was able to assess the situation and provide the homeowners with a FREE, no obligation quote designed specific to address all of their concerns. Our Production Team went to the home to install our SuperSump® sump pump system. A full-featured system, SuperSump® includes the best components available including a top-rated 1/3HP Zoeller® pump is designed for reliability & high-volume pumping. What you will notice is there is no discharge line coming out of the top of the sump pump lid, a side discharge was installed instead. A side discharge is a really great option when the sump pump is to be located in a finished space in the basement. Similar to a top discharge the hole for the sump is jackhammered and the basin is installed flush with the floor. The difference with a side discharge is the plumbing off the pump is directed out the side of the basin below the lid. We then install a solid lid that sits flush with the concrete floor. The discharge line can then be run to the exterior wall and up the wall before being cored through to the exterior of the home. The home owner can then finish with stud framing and drywall and conceal the discharge line. Carpet or other flooring material can be laid over top of the solid sump lid so long as access remains for future maintenance on the sump system. Doug Lacey's Basement Systems also installs a WaterWatch alarm system on side discharge sumps with a probe and wire to a small box that would be situated in the finished room. If the water levels were to reach the probe an alarm would warn the owner that there is an issue with the system.
From there the system will discharge any water entering the sump pump basin to the exterior of the home passing through our patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of your home and ejects water away from the foundation in the event that the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged.
This home has been passed down through the family of farmers and they are overjoyed with the work that was done by Doug Lacey's Basement Systems which repaired and saved their basement from future water seepage!
