A homeowner in SW Calgary, Alberta encountered issues with water leaking in through foundation cracks around the foundation walls. Wanting to eliminate the water issues permanently they contacted the experts at Doug Lacey's Basement Systems.
A System Design Specialist went to the home to assess the situation and provide them with a FREE, no obligation quote designed specific to address their concerns. Our Production Team then went to the home to install a WellDuct® Window Well Drain designed to prevent basement flooding due to window well leakage. The low profile WellDuct® system channels excess water from the exterior window well down and behind the installed CleanSpace® vapor barrier. The CleanSpace® vapor barrier is installed along the walls of the basement and is made of a 100% waterproof plastic. It has a 25 year warranty for wear and tear, it's durable, washable, and has anti-microbial protection called UltraFresh built right in! The wall vapor barrier ties into our patented WaterGuard® drainage system. The WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain System is designed with a built-in wall flange, which extends up your basement wall by 3/8", capturing any water leaking from the walls will move downward and behind this flange where it is then directed to the SuperSump® sump pump system. A full-featured system, SuperSump® includes the best components available including a top-rated 1/3HP Zoeller® pump is designed for reliability & high-volume pumping. From there the system will discharge any water entering the sump pump basin to the exterior of the home passing through our patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of your home and ejects water away from the foundation in the event that the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged.
Now this homeowner does not have to worry about water coming in through these cracks and causing any damage when we get to our Spring or "rainy" season!
