What you will notice is there is no discharge line coming out of the top of the sump pump lid, a side discharge was installed instead. A side discharge is a really great option when the sump pump is to be located in a finished space in the basement. Similar to a top discharge the hole for sump is jackhammered and the basin is installed flush with the floor.
The interior drainage system
The discharge line was buried, once the grass grows in properly again it will look like nothing was even done in this area!
This homeowner in Penhold, Alberta found in an area of the basement that there was an area in the basement that has signs of water damage. After ripping up the carpet, he found that there was indeed water pooling. Wanting to eliminate the water issues, he contacted Doug Lacey's Basement Systems.
We then scheduled an appointment with the homeowner for one of our System Design Specialists to visit the home and assess the situation. After providing the homeowner with a free quote, our Production Team went to the home to install our patented WaterGuard® drainage system. The WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain System is designed with a built-in wall flange, which extends up your basement wall by 3/8", capturing any water leaking from the walls will move downward and behind this flange where it is then directed to the SuperSump® sump pump system.
