Foundation Repair Photo Album: Stabilizing a Home's Sinking Addition in Blackfalds, AB
This homeowner in Blackfalds, AB expressed concerns when the addition on their garage began sinking. Foundation settlement of up to 1.5" in spots was noticed as large visible cracks appeared in interior drywall and floor, as well as on the exterior of the garage. Looking for answers and a proven solution, they contacted the foundation and structural repair professionals at Foundation Supportworks of Alberta (a division of Doug Lacey's Basement Systems).
A System Design Specialist was able to assess their situation and provide them with a FREE, no obligation quote designed specific to address all of their expressed concerns. Our Production Team was then able to come to the home to install 9 of our patented Supportworks Push Pier System. The Push Piers are made of steel and are driven deep into the soil beneath a foundation to load-bearing strata. Once locked into place, the weight of the home is transferred from the original, unstable soils, through the piers, to the competent soil or bedrock below. We were able to lift the sinking section of the home back to level, ensuring it would not sink again by pushing the piers down to a depth of nearly 79 feet to bedrock.
