Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Radon Mitigation System Installed in SE Calgary, AB
This homeowner in Southeast Calgary, Alberta had their home tested for Radon and found that there was high levels of it within their home. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that has become the second-leading cause of lung cancer, second only to cigarette smoke. Most soils contain uranium that, over time, decays to produce radium and polonium. Eventually, polonium is released with the radon, which creates a high toxicity level in the air and water that it infuses. This homeowner had also encountered problems with water leaking into their basement. In search of the best solution to address their concerns, and protect their health & home, the homeowners contacted the experts at Doug Lacey's Basement Systems.
A System Design Specialist was able to visit the homeowner, assess the situation, and provide the homeowners with a FREE, no obligation quote designed specifically to address all of their concerns. From there our Production Team was able to come to the home to install the SuperSump® sump pump system. A full-featured system, SuperSump® includes the best components available including a top-rated 1/3HP Zoeller® pump is designed for reliability & high-volume pumping. Since the sump system was installed it makes it easier for our Radon Mitigation Specialist to install the Radon Mitigation System. The Radon Mitigation Specialist was able to tie in the Radon Gas Mitigation System in with the SuperSump® sump pump system using the sump basin as the area in which the fan draws the gas from beneath the basement floor slab and vent it outside of the home.
